6/3/2105 A little while ago I was looking at buying some fish from the supermarket as my Daughter is on antibiotics after an appendix removal operation and I thought fish might be better for her stomach while she was on antibiotics. I had also been craving some fish too but apart from a tin of tuna it was just too expensive. A few days later the kids had been playing with the kayak which we normally just keep next to the creek where they would play on it. There was a king tide and they hadn’t pulled it up far enough so the kayak went down the creek into the estuary and then out to sea where it was found by a fisherman named Cris. Being on Facebook he put a post online to see if anyone had lost a kayak and at the same time we were posting that we had lost one. He said that he had hauled it onboard his fishing boat and would be back in port the next morning. Seeing an opportunity and having $10 in my wallet I asked if I could buy a fish off him. He said what kind do you like? I said gurnard or snapper if possible. He said he had heaps of both and I wouldn’t need to pay for it. The next day we met him at the dock and he helped us get the 4 meter kayak onto our trailer looking no worse for ware despite the adventure. He then grabbed 2 large snapper and 3 gurnard and gave it to us. What an amazing way for the lord to answer a need. Jeremy.
Just before Christmas we were staying in our truck in an orchard where we were parked next to a few other people who travel and live in their vehicles. Because we have 3 children, a dog, a cat, a rabbit and quite a few plants we were finding the space too cramped for all our stuff as well as a separate caravan and trailer. I was feeling desperate about our situation and one morning I cried out to the lord about it and said lord please bless me today. A little later in the day we had to go to the motorhome dump station to empty the toilet cassettes and when we were there I saw this couple doing the same and felt to ask them where they were staying. They told me and it sounded a lot better that where we were now parked. I asked if there was the possibility of us parking there to and she told me where she was living and the owner of the property. I thanked them and went straight round to ask the owner if we could stay. He said we could and showed me a place we could park our home on wheels. It was right next to a stream for the kids to play in and had a place for a vegetable garden and a lovely stand of trees to get out of the sun during the day. Before we moved in he put in a water supply and a fence to keep the stock out of where we would park. We had instant neighbors with which we shared our Christmas with in the daytime when its hot I walk through the trees and pray and am so grateful for what the lord has provided for my family. What an amazing God we serve.
I’m an artist and needed some more paint brushes. We live on a limited income though and I wasn’t sure how to afford them. I was looking at art on Instagram when I saw a competition run by a paintbrush company. I entered, not thinking much about it. I was delighted when they contacted me, saying I’d won four brushes, (including two I really needed), and I shared how needed the encouragement of the prize was because I was going through a rough patch with health etc. When the prize arrived, it wasn’t just the brushes, but a watercolour pad and a set of travel watercolours too! I felt so blessed. I believe God moved their heart with compassion to send more than was listed in the prize. Serena.

Cissy and Roger, who used to run an orphanage in Uganda contacted me recently after Rogers was in a serious accident when returning from his work as a social worker. Rogers broke both his legs and his co worker was killed. Cissy called me to tell me that roger had been taken to a Ugandan free clinic by strangers who had first emptied his pockets and his monthly wage was now gone. the clinic said they would have to amputate both of Rogers leg’s. I was shocked that this was happening but then the lord told me to tell cissy to take rogers to a place called the Nile hospital. This was really just another clinic further along the Nile river. She was unsure but then said” I will do it and she managed to get her husband to the new clinic. They said that they would be able to save his legs. However if you know Uganda you know that no hospital is truly free and in Uganda if you cannot pay you do not get treated or sometimes they will treat you but you must stay until you have paid, even though this an illegal practice. So i sent a message that we would try and help where we could so that was accepted by the clinic and the got rogers legs, x-rayed, set and in casts. A week later cissy was complaining about stomach pain that she had been having for months and was getting worse. i felt the lord tell me she needed to go to a private hospital so they could pick up on what was wrong with cissy. So i prayed and then a week later Cissy told me that they were being transferred to Kampala international private Hospital. Again the only money we had was hard to find and we had to keep seeking the lord for ways to pay some money. while she was there the doctors there noticed cissy was having a lot of stomach pain and decided to do an x-ray to see what was going on. She had infection in her large intestine and needed a coloscopy. This is an expensive operation but in faith we told cissy to tell the hospital we would cover it. We had still little money to pay except $100 every now and then when we had it. Two days before cissy went into the theater i felt in my own stomach quite a pain as though i was sharing Cissy’s pain with her and i couldn’t eat for 2 days so i used this time to pray for cissy. When she came out of theater i stopped getting pain and was told by Roger that the operation went well and Cissy had a colonoscopy bag to be warn for a month whilst her infection was cleared up. They could not afford to pay for food in the hospital so the lord provided a patient in the next room to give them a meal a day. In a months time Cissy will undergo another operation to reconnect her large intestine and i was given a picture by the lord of both of them back in their house with their two children. This has been quite a remarkable journey for myself, family and of Corse roger and Cissy whilst we wait for God to provide. I shared the story with a local church minister and he communicated the story to the other financial members of the church but they needed evidence. i sent them an invoices sent to me by the Kampala hospital but it didn’t get anywhere. So one day i was talking to a friend i had made in whangarei only recently and as i shared he felt the lord wanted him and his wife to help so they gave $500 to towards the hospital bills. We still don’t have enough money to cover the bill as well as the costs of Rogers rent and food for his children but we keep believing. It has been an exciting, and at times a stressful time as we journey with them and the Lord to see everything come to the good ending the lord has shown me. rogers was really struggling with his faith in the lord before and after the accident but he said through this experience and seeing God work through us and other’s in his life he has regained his trust in the lord. It has grown my faith as well to see how God has used us to answer this call and I’m both grateful and humbled that the lord chose me and my wife to stand in the gap on their behalf. We have never met these people and yet we feel the bonds of family with them as though we had known them for a long time. It has been an amazing journey of simply praying each day and saying Lord here we are and your will be done. How would you use us? For me this journey started in oxford New Zealand where i dared to say to the lord that i wanted a genuine, real and authentic relationship with him. i recall one morning at 3 am being called outside to walk and prey, slightly put out that it was so early. So i dutifully began with Christian espousals of scripters or just praying for whatever i felt and i had a picture of the lord with his arms folded. i was confused but he was saying that he didn’t want that. he just wanted me to talk to him in my most natural language and from the heart. i had a problem strait away because my words were there but my heart wasn’t. after a few days i had to confess to the lord that i had lost my first love and i didn’t think i loved him even though i wanted too. Another day went by and as i lay in bed one night a scripture came to mind. we love because he first loved us. I started to think about this and realized that even our love for him first comes from his love for us. he then gave me a reminder of his love and i cried. after that i was eager to get up at what ever time he called and i would pray for hours. it didn’t seem like work at all. During the day i would meet people who had cancer and i would pray for them and weather through hospital or not they just got better. I cried out to the lord for more in regards to helping people and seeing lives changed. this is the beginning of a story i hope the lord will write throw-out my life as i simply go to be with him. As from today Rogers and cissy are still in hospital and they see people come in every day and then when they are found to have no money they are removed from the hospital and Rogers prays for them all to be healed. Freely you have been given freely give. if only one thing comes from me sharing their testimony let it be this that the lord waits everyday for us to go to him and begin to see how he will write the story of our lives.
